    Default Rub rail

Do any of you know where to purchase the Rub rail material for a aluminum jon boat? It looks like maybe pvc or well pipe hose. Its a 1 1/4. Don't want to put pipe insulation. Want to do it right the first time.Thumbs Up

i don't know how "tackey" it would look but you could go to a farm service store and look at the, normally, red or a shade of red, hose farmers use. you would have to split it straight from one end to the other but i think it would stay on the boat rail. they should also have a plastic green/clear hose but it would be a booger to split unless you used a power saw and help to hold it. it would probably look better on this boat too.

I found out its well pipe. Lay it out in the sun for a few hours, unrolled. Take a board put a utility blade razor in it. Mount the board on something stout and strong. Pull the hose through the blade. Maybe have someone to help you. Or use clamps as a guide.

I've had customers cut PVC and screw it over the cap rails. It works great below the dam at Pickwick when rubbing the walls.
