    Default trim leaks down


    I have a 85/86 100 mariner and it really doesn't matter if I'm running or not,it just bleeds down.It seams to be getting faster and faster.Is there some sort of check valve?Anyone out there can help me on this ????Thank you animalduck

    IF I am remembering right your trim pump is separate from the motor and is probably in the bilge area. There is not a check valve but there is a manual bleed valve that will lower your engine, check to see if it has loosened up. It just looks like a thick black screw and the head of it is about 1/4" thick.

    I tryed to tighten it but it does the same.After looking around I'm thinking it the pilot valve but I just can't enough info to take it apart and get parts.HELP PLEASE

    Your tilt and trim cylinders probably need to be re-built. It sounds like they are by-passing.
