    Question Boat Seat Pedestal

Has anyone ever replaced the mounting plate pedestal in a fiberglass boat? I am talking about the metal flat plate that is under the carpet. The screws have pulled out and the seat is about to tear the carpet. I have put another pedestal seat over the top of the carpet but after awhile the screws have worked out also. I know I need to remove the carpet and fix the original plate in the floor. Any ideas that might help. Has anyone ever tried this? Do I fiberglass the plate back in or should I do something else? Its a Ranger

I would drill on thru if you can get to the holes with your hand from underneath. Drill thru the top where the holes are now and on thru the flooring. Put a screw thru that you can put a stainless steel washer and a LOCK NUT on. Put one on each screw and titen her down. If that won't work try molly bolts.

Drill through and try to bolt it from the bottom side with a piece of angle iron for support.
    FISH-ON!!!!!
