    Default 1991 35 hp force motor problem/Question

While on the lake Sunday and headed up the lake my motor kind of bogged down and would only go about 10 mph. It cranks fine, idles fine, compression checked out fine, and i changed the spark plugs. It don't spit, sputter, or feel like it isn't getting fuel it just want go like it should and i don't have a clue whats going on. Anyone one have any suggestions?

mine done the same thing the other day, a screw had fell out that hold the throttle linkage in place on the side of the motor. mine was on the left side if sitting in the boat facing front. it was a rod running verticle with a clamp with two screws on it to hold the block.

Check for a strong spark at both plugs. If that is good try it again and when it starts to act up try pumping the primer bulb. If it acts like it wants to go, rebuild the fuel pump. Its an easy job.

    Default Maybe spun a hub

If your RPM'S pick up but the boat won't go you might have spun the hub on your propeller. Might have hit something or it might have just give up?? Happened a couple times to me. Ferdi aka Fred

Not trying to hijack, but this happened to me. I changed the prop but saw nothing wrong with the old one. What are the indicators when you change it?

Did you find any problems? To me it sounds like some trash in the high speed jet in the carb to me. The carb has a low speed jet and a high speed jet. If the low speed had trash it, it would be hard to start and keep running. I have taken carbs off and apart, use a staple to poke in the holes and spray carb cleanner thru all holes.

Well, it was a broken spring in the carb that left the choke half choked and that explains why it wouldn't go like it should have. What a weird thing to go wrong. Oh well.
