I'm not trying to turn this into an "Oil Thread" but I use Mobil 1 Synthetic in my 4 stroke Mercury and have since day one. I believe in synthetic as it dissipates heat better and is a superior lubricant, but that is an opinion and nothing more. Good luck and let us know what the problem is once it's found, maybe it'll help us 4 strokers out someday.

I will take the spark plugs out and they will have a fair amount of oil on them.I clean the plugs and reinstall them and the motor, will run normal until I need to clean the plugs again.Has anyone had any trouble with a fourstroke or can someone tell me why my motor is doing this and what can I do to fix it?
Then trade It to them and get you a new one!:D

I have thought about running synthetic in the motor and I will use it,the next time I change it. I run Mobil 1 full synthetic in all my cars, truck and commercial Scag lawnmower.
