Default '94 Evinrude 50 hp starting problem

My 50 hp rude doesn't like damp mornings. I took it to the lake yesterday 7:30am. Tried to launch and it had no fire. piddled with it for a while and gave up. We went bank fishing until around 11:00 and just for giggles and grins tried the outboard and it fired right off. The boat and motor have separate covers. This happened two other times both during damp mornings.

My '94 Johnson has a bad habit of loosing good connection at the powerpack.....Happened to me twice this year but don't remember the weather....

I unplugged and replugged the powerpack and fixed both times....not really something you can do at the ramp......

Did you pull plug and check for fire? If no fire at the plug...check the powerpack....

It's just about gotta be a connection somewhere if you're fire is intermittent. You could be gronding somewhere enroute to the plug if your powerpac connection checks out.

I'd look for cracks in the vinyl sheathing of the wiring and/or corrosion at each and every connection that involves the transfer of spark.

    You'll get it right--I'm sure.
