    Default Lake Allen-ft.meade lakes?

Dre or Hunter can anyone access those lakes or do you need a permit or have to be military? My inlaws live in Odenton would like to check them out with my father in law sometime.

    Tear-em-up:

Saw your snow crappie note today; too funny but you are on them.
I'm hoping that Dre' will reply soon to clarify because I cant tell if the lake is on Ft Meade or if its in the Patuxtent Nature Reserve.
If you have the Anne Arundel ADC street map book, you can see the lake on map #12 I believe its on the Patuxtent Nature Reserve. I'll make a run out there and confirm because the Patuxtent facilities are open to the public for fishing, hiking, etc.
Keep catching them, were all happy for you.

    Default Lake Allen

    Tear-em-up:

Did finally make it to Lake Allen, and although small and shallow, I believe it would be worth your time to visit if you are on this side of the Bay.
The lake is in fact inside of the Patuxent Nature Reserve. Any one can visit and fish, but only on weekends year round.
A free permit must be picked up at the North Track visitor's office located on HWY 198 near to the FT Meade gate entrance.
You can pull up the web site at: Patuxent Research Refuge Homepage. Also, its critical to call the front office before going because you must pick up a day pass on each visit and the lake is not open one Saturday per month. The phone number is (301) 776-3090.
Hope to see you on the water soon.
