Made best of it in that weather
A friend and I got together on a weather delayed Sat. morning fishing trip on the eastern shore. Upon arrival at our first destination it was raining hard with a stiff 20+ mph wind from the west. We were wearing winter coats and rain gear. My thermometer said it was 37F. The rain turned to sleet and then hail. No bites here as it was low tide and the wind was too strong to throw into so we left to find a more sheltered spot. A couple more stops and tries yielded nothing and we stopped for a coffee to warm up and dry out some. The next spot we tried it was low tide and going out more but at least it was sheltered from the wind. We began catching yellow perch one after another. Most were small and all had spawned out. We caught about 50 with 4 keepers from 10 to 12 inches and one keeper crappie about 10 inches. We stopped one other place on the way home and caught hickory shad, white perch, bluegill and crappie. All of those fish were released with one keeper white perch about 11 inches. Total creel for the day was 6 fish. It was another crappy Saturday but we made the best of it. Sorry but no pictures taken today.
