    Default Went out again

Made another trip to fish the perch run and didnt do as well as the last trip. Caught 37 perch, 5 stripers, and 6 blue cats. All were caught on either blood worms or grass shrimp. I have a few questions for those of you who fish this run. Are you anchored and fishing top and bottom rigs or drifting. Are you casting jigs tipped with bait or just straight down. Also how far up river are the fish running to spawn. I was catching lots of fish leaking eggs and males with milt where I was which sits in the middle between two major bidges (if you fish this river you know where I mean).

Another observation, rockfish in the chesapeake are much longer and skinnier by weight than those caught in the coastal bays. The fish in the coastal bays are not long but are shapped like footballs.

these are the lucky guys.........they're on the other (eastern) shore. Nanticoke, Choptank or Pocomoke would be my guess.

Lol, yes all of the above and a few smaller lesser known creeks. Went today to a crappie hotspot for a few hours. Water was in the upper 40s low 50s and most of the bigger crappie were still deep, close to bottom in 12 feet of water. Caught 51 crappie before i had a good tug and pulled in a keeper perch. Grabbed my other rod with the top and bottom rig and quickly baited up with bloodworm and got 3 more nice fish in 15 minutes. Unfortunately I had to leave soon after but that last burst of action was fun.

Tear-em-up, it ried the creek near my house a few times and havent gotten a bite from a perch but sid catch a carp on bloodworms. Was stopped by the DNR and he told me that the commercial guys have gotten them in their nets. I might try this weekend again just to see.
