Capt Dave and I needed to do some fishing. With the desire from the cold weather hitting my appetite for some convict bass we headed out in the predawn to some very fishy areas. We saw two huge schools of fish breaking the surface and slipped into them. They busted all around the boat and once we saw them we realized they are carp. Hundreds of carp just busting the surface and no hits from them. So we kept looking. Found some very clean water and bam fish on. It fought very well and took some drag out. I saw the huge mouth of the fish and my saliva glands exploded.. big convict bass..well until we got it to the boat. A LGMouth faked me out.
Nice LGMouth on a big saltwater popper.
Later I lost two more but this one bit off more than it could chew.
Back at ramp by 9:30am..
Great way to not catch targeted fish.

We always seem to catch quite a few bass while crappie fishing as well .
