I used a black and chartreuse crappie dart, I was going to buy some bullhead minnows at anglers but they were closed. I also used a Mr Crappie sparkled minnow but they liked the dart better. The fish were between 8ft-14ft of water on a outgoing tide, temperature was supposed to be at 40f but that was only at around 2pm the rest of the day the line would freeze as I reeled it back. I normally don't keep the fish but I was so exited I brought them home and fried them, crappie are really sweet in flavor.

Nice job on the fish, good eating size. I always seem to have problems with my guides freezing up when the temps are suppose to be a little above 32 degrees.

I used to go by a bridge here in MD and catch many at a time, there was a warm winter a couple of years ago We went to the same bridge and caught the biggest perch I've ever caught most between 14"-16". Big females and some fat white perch, all caught with bullhead minnows, I've started using plastics since and haven't been back to that bridge but I'd like to see if it makes a difference.

Last year I got a few 14ers and you would think they it's a different species. Those are hogs love how they bite and they taste great with butter!!!! Again great catch.
