with the weather bing kinda on the mild side for dec. i was trying to talk a buddie of mine into sliding the pelican onto the truck and hitting the lake . but deer season just went out sat and then with all this rain coming guess i will have to hold on cold and rain don't work well for me lol.

but i do love the color combo maybe you should try that one chart. with a lab colored backer . nice catch also .. and just a question are you using any live bait tearem up or just jigs and nibbles.

    thanks,

    Scott

Looking at the floor in the boat. Is it painted plywood? Also what is that "trim" made of that you used to run down the edge? thinner plywood? I just put a plywood floor in my "new" alum and looking for ways to finish it. Right now I just put a coat of garage floor paint on it, bit not sure how it will hold up.

    Thanks

Valspar porch paint with grit added, the trim is commercial vinyl flooring that is used on stair treads. I got the angl part of it trimming out other spots too, all scrapes that I got off a jobsite I was working on . Used regular plywood just keep it painted, treated plywood is bad on aluminium. My friend at a boat dealer showed me what that does ,pontoon boats that sat on boat lifts with it were rotting thru where the pontoon made contact with the treated wood. Another guys duck boat got messed up from it. I like the painted floor better then carpet. That vinyl is about 1/4" thick cut in strips put down with flat head stainless screws also from jobsite lol it fills the gap so stuff dont fall thru there but you can get your hand under when you gotta pick up the plywood, used 3/4" plywood.

Gotcha - I used 3/4" foam under 3/8" exterior ply for the floor. Very sturdy. I then painted the underside with the garage paint before screwing down. Just didn't know what to put on the sides. The vinyl gives me ideas now. I have grit for the floor but am waiting to put it in my final coat.Name: IMG-20121207-00021.jpg

have been wondering about getting the boat out and giving it a whirl here in the western part of the state with the temps roughly in the 40 to mid 50 range mite be able to catch me something other than a cold the last two nights it has been chilly down in the 20's but to be back up by the weekend may have to just get the pelican out for a lil trip around the lake dnt look like there will be a ny ice this year at least none i'm gonna get on lol.

like the foam md crappie it will help keep your feet warm lol just kidding you gotta fill in them hole spaces and that stuff works the best . corrct on the no treated wood for alum. and paint with a lil sand throwed in for good measure .

    good job fellas ,
    Scott

Up here I'm waiting for the water temp to start dropping. It was down in the 30's last month, but not for long. It's been 47-50 for the past month. I been getting stripers and a few crappie, but the big crappie and the yellow perch seem to like it around 38-41 in the spots I fish.

Not here - I had to pay $6 for a bag big enough to do a gallon.
