you are right gduck another one of marylands best kept secreats lol.
just to let you in on some information mike if you plan on hunting sang in md make sure you get a licence . used to be everyone could hunt it or i should say harvest but now adays you need a licence for that or if you do find some you would need one to sell it . it all of a sudden became a big thing with the state wanting thier share .lol
i have never hunted sang and most likely have stomped it down while roaming the woods in the day and night hunting but couldn't tell ya . and also thier is fools sang that looks just like the real thing but there is a differance i guess that just a trained eye to c the differance in the 2 .

    but best of luck ,

    Scott

and did ya get any turkeys mike ?

    Scott,

No turkeys this year. I didn't know you needed a license for that. Seems like they got one for everything.

here is a small thread to ramps that may give ya a lil idea of what to look for and like the site says you can get them all year but the longer ya wait the more potent they get , lol

    Ramps

and here is some info on ginseng . my buddie grows his own and havests it and sells it once in awhile .

    http://www.sfp.forprod.vt.edu/factsheets/ginseng.pdf

but as with the ramps either you find it or you don't i've seen ramps grow in an area as large as a football feild and in some of the dangdest places but go one football feild over and nuthing at all .

but with sang you will find it mayb e a plant or two at a time mostly never in large bunches .

but it's just like fishing all about being out there doing it lol.

Good to know that cooking them reduces the bad breath. I don't think my wife would kiss me if my breath was kicking like Bruce Lee.
