We also had to work for em today in a spot where we have put some big numbers on the board before. We fished almost 5 hours and again tried every style of fishing we know and really had our best luck slow trolling with bobbers and some long lines off the stern. In that time we caught 20 crappie, 4 pickeral, 1 3lb bass, and a tiny yellow perch (surprised not to see more perch they usually are not real picky in this lake).
The up side of the trip was quality! the smallest crappie we had was 12" and all the rest were over 13 with a couple at my personel best 14 3/4" so that was a welcome surprise and they seemed to really like bl/sl 2 1/2" finesses today, but also did good on chart twisters.
I was happy with how we did but it was still a little off, we have also had days in there when 2 guys could catch 75 or more in 3 hours. I think maybe the fish are just comming out of whatever has had them off the last few days, we started real slow before we started putting some fish in the boat, we didnt keep any this praticular pond has a catch and release rule so all those big uns are still there, hope they get even larger to catch again some day!
