Before you buy, check out Lowes Stinger series, I believe a similar boat would be their ST175. Probably around the same price. If I were in the position to buy, it would probably be between the two.

I have a 07' Pro Crappie and really like it,my only real gripe with mine would be that it could use more storage.

Do any of you pull cranks or long line off the back? Would it be easy to rig for this? (new job with big pay raise has me thinking new boat. :D) How does it hold on a windy day? (I did get to fish with Panman during one of our Virginia crappie tournaments and enjoyed it)

Default Pro 175 Crappie Windy Day

I have long lined off the back before with no problems. I throw a 5 gallon bucket over (instead of paying 40.00 for a wind sock) off of the back and this holds really well. Before I did that the wind would blow me all over! However, I am a female and not as "husky" as some of these guys!

Good luck on your job and your boat purchase!

I have a 2005 model. Love it except for the lack of storage.

I have an 03 crappie pro and love it, i use the rod box as my storage, cause i hate putting rods in those dang things, i have a 40 hp
and see alot of comments on larger i am sure it would be nice but it performs well 28-30mph I like the back lower seat position for my
father and daughter either one but i did purchase a ezt pole perch to give more leg room for the person fishing in the rear, good investment

My wife an I fish out of a 2000 model with 50hp merc. I have owned johnboats in the past so this is a yacht compared to those. I would say that overall it is a great boat for what it is ment for. We panfish a lot. Not the best in cross winds like a fiberglass bass boat would be but I bought it under 4K from a dealer and have only spent 800 bucks on maintenance in 4 years. Solid boat with enough room for 2 or 3 and can get up in shallow water well. Stable for a light boat.

I have a 2007 Pro Crappie 175 with 60 Merc 4 stroke. Bought it used, REAL LOW hours, it's a good boat.
I love the 4 stroke. It will idle troll all day and runs out about 35 MPH. I'd like more but can't complain. Change the oil, filter, fuel filter and plugs each spring, easy to do and you are good to next spring. I only run premium gas in my boats (I have 2, the other is a bass boat with 200 Merc, my tournament boat)
The front platform is small for me, I'm not small. Trolling motor foot control position is the issue. Bought an offset seat pedestal for the front seat that moved it back about 7", it helps.
Storage is poor. The space under the front deck is used up by life vests. The rod locker is the only other storage and with rods in place there is not a lot left.
My boat came with one quirk, the livewell aerator switches are reversed as marked. It took overfilling the front livewell while waiting for the rear to fill to figure that out. I live with it, have not been inconvenienced enough to switch the switch positions yet. I'm good as long as the memory holds out.
There is not enough room on the front deck for two seats side by side. That kills spider rigging for two. I have rod holders on each rear corner and have been OK rigging front and rear. Still, I'll go to a wider boat in the future.
The trailer is good except....... My gripe is no steps to allow you to get in-out. They are there but they are back under the sides of the boat hull and you can not access them. And the winch is a cheapie.
Overall, a good rig, fishes fine, no hull, trailer, motor issues so far. None are perfect. Easy to tow.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I had a 2004 model that I really enjoyed. I removed the front baitwell and put 2 pedstals up front for side by side spider rigging. The main downside for me was fishing in the wind. 10 mph would put me off the lake. I went to a big glass boat for that reason.
