Yes he did, he just gave them away. If you will read his last post, he even said that he called the CO and was told that what he did was illegal.

I dont know about the snagging but it should be illegal. Now as far as the limit, total possesion is twice the daily creel limit. You may not have more than the daily creel limit with YOU while afield. So if you catch your daily creel limit and give them to someone and go catch another limit your not breaking any law.Am i right?Tommy

Default Snagging in Alabama - Tennessee River or it's inpoundments

Alabama Wildlife & Fisheries Code:220-2-115 states that it shall be illegal to take fish on the Tennessee River or it's impoundsments by snagging or snatching. This is defined as pulling a single hook or group of hooks through the water.

Any fish caught and not returned to the water from which it was taken is part of that fisherman's creel limit. No different from a hunter's daily bag limit.
Sure, it's one of those hard to enforce laws but it is enforced.

good point Rowdy never looked at it like that.but it would be the same thing.
we all are probably guilty of that at some time.if their is 2 in the boat we just
count fish till we get to 60 if their is a 30 fish limit dont keep up with who got how many.but you are right.don't have this problem to much.

It's not the same. The man had no fishing partner.

He's even said that he called fish and wildlife and they told him that it was illegal.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that and a few hundred dollars will pay your ticket and court costs.

A gamewarden could look at the fish and see if every one on a stringer has hook marks on its sides and tell if the person is snagging.
Off the topic here, but where did you get your username?? I know a song that's played on XM radio on Bill Mac's show that is titled Grits and Gravy?? Good song too!
    Just a question??? :D

Up here in the great white north , my understanding is that any fish that is not hooked in the mouth is considered foul hooked is is suppose to be released.

Sure he can catch all he wants but the ones he gives away are part of his creel limit. Nobody getting on him just helping him get it straight. Thats why we all here.

That depends on where you fish, in MS it is now legal to snag and keep gamefish!
