I use 6# hi-vis Suffix on my reels and 6# clear Suffix for my leaders.

I guess I'm gonna be the odd man out here......

I use 15 lb. Trilene Big Game in florescent green from reel to hook.

Too much trouble for me to use different size leader from the main line...especially when I'm tying new hooks on the water and trying to watch 10-12 poles.

I've always heard that big line will spook fish, especially in clearer water, but I think the florescent green actually draws curiosity from the fish.

The florescent green line also stands out against the color of the water to actually see what the line is doing from the rod tip to the water....if I have one line that's at a different angle going into the water from the rest of my poles I know that "odd angle" line either has a fish on it or it's touching the brush.

I can nearly guarantee the hook will straighten every time with 15 lb. line.

When I get a line hung I want it out of the brush, restraightened, rebaited, and back in the water as fast as possible.

I use Eagle claw 214EL #1 hooks which is a very light wire hook.

I use 3/8 ounce snake weights that I make myself to help eliminate hangups...any other kind of weight IMO is a potential hangup possibility.
There is nothing is my rig to get hung up except for the hook.

I hook minnows thru the eyes because I believe that hooking thru the lips makes it harder for the minnow to breath and it will stay alive longer on the hook.
