For what it's worth, I typically only use jigs. I will use minnows at times, mainly if I'm with someone who wants to use them. I do believe jigs are more convenient, I just don't typically like jacking with minnows. You cast 'em off the hook, you got a bobber out and the wind blows your boat out of position, they all die on you, you can't find a place that has 'em, or you do find a place and tell the kid 3 dozen and he gives you precisely 36 minnows. I just think it's kind of aggravating, and I'm sure sometimes I don't catch because of it.

Last year every month of the year I caught crappie. It didn't make any difference what the Barommeter reading was we caught crappie. I fish strickly Tubes in a variety of colors. Caught crappie from 4ft. to seventy feet. Catching crappie 14ft. in 38ft of water yesterday. There was a few caught at 4ft. most caught at 14ft.
That's sorta like saying you shoot a 30-06 vrs. a .300. Doesnt matter what you catch 'em with....as long as youre catching! Sorry you guys dont get to use live bait to experience both worlds!
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Im just learning to jig fish, this is my first year not using minnows trying to learn to jig. Went out yesterday by myself in my boat and my parents and niece were trolling in their boat. We fished the same area, they had out 16 poles with two hooks per pole with minnows and I was using one pole with one jig. At the end of the day they had 13 keepers and I had 15. The biggest difference I noticed is I can fish the beds all the time while they troll around them trying not to get hung up.

Just my 2 cents worth of oppinion.

thats very easy to believe, when those fish are in close, jigs are the ticket,
you can cover so much more water,
its tough when you fish with kids or folks that cant cast,
then minnows are the wat togo.
    glad you hook up.
we banged em good too today, most were caught on a 1/16 red head with a 2"white curly, gotta use white on these blue bird days. lol
