At least this administration is trying to look for alternatives to help the economy. This was never a serious consideration and was just brought to the table for discussion. This is how intelligent people solve problem. Bring up ideas and discuss them and consider all alternatives. EB

It was being seriously considered by the administration. It was serious enough to warrant this letter from eleven veterans' groups:

After meeting with the groups, Obama assured them this was the plan. After the meeting, the American Legion commander was angry and said there was no way to stop it unless the administration changed their minds:

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it...."

"I got the distinct impression that the only hope of this plan not being enacted," said Commander Rehbein, "is for an alternative plan to be developed that would generate the desired $540-million in revenue...."

Example ME - Okay I have three things that are service connected, I get my meds for nothing.

If I were to have the Doctor check me and it shows that I had pneumonia or bronchitis and he prescribed something for it, I'd have to pay the $8 dollars
