if there is wind i will still go fishing but not if its heavy. for now im stuck with a pontoon (kickboat) so too heavy of a wind means i cant use the pontoon otherwise i will be sailing. there are some wind speeds where it is too heavy for the pontoon but i can still bankfish though.

my first trip to a lake with the pontoon was on a trout opener weekend. it also happened to be very windy. i was too anxious to get the pontoon out though so i launched anyway. there were waves one to two feet high on the water (not much if you are in a decent boat but alot for a 10 acre lake in a 8ft pontoon boat. so the wind made my day short (5 minutes). right after i left though the wind calmed right down and later that day i heard reports of excellent fishing. if i had stuck around just 10 minutes longer...
