When are you going to explain to the "noob", that bait shops don't usually carry "green worms" ... that you have to dig them out of the river bank :p
I'm assuming that you're referring to the "green" sand worms, that you find in the banks of rivers, where the sand/dirt/leaves are packed together.
You might also want to tell him, that : when broken, or when a hook is stuck in them, they exude a slime coat ... and they 'stink' :D
Also better tell him that he might get his arm, line, or pole broken
... cause them critters are some of the best bait for Catfish & Drum, that anyone could ever find.
Can't say as I've ever caught a Crappie on one ... but, I've caught my share of Channel Catfish, Freshwater Drum, and Hellbenders (
The Hellbender Homepage: What's a hellbender? ) ... out of the KY River, but that's where I dug them worms from, and where I fished with them.
