Yeah, don't have any love for them. They do the same kind of crap in the fall and slightly warmer days in the winter when we're trying to duck hunt. They'll come right into the decoys and start casting like they're Roland Martin.

That my friends is why i hate all tournements it doesn,t matter what kind. Fishing is supposed to be fun not competition. Relax and enjoy yourself until some tourney guy ruins it for you. They don,t even have respect for dock owners or anyone else. This is my personal openion. Hope i don,t sound like a cry baby it,s just my openion.

I had one guy cut me off yesterday, he at least said hello, had to troll all the way back to the ramp as he'd knocked with prop clean off the hub on one of our rocks. He obviously was not from around here or he'd know where the channel was. I hate to say but I didn't feel the least bit sorry for him, they'd put me in that kind of mood.

I would rather have them come by at full speed than the boats that slow down just enough to bog the boat down to make a huge wake. Boats that slow down like that and think they are not making no wake makes me mad as #$@@. We also have problems with wake boards and skiers coming into the creeks and pulling right through us thats when I call DNR.

Had the wake thing happening this weekend, bass tournement going on bunch of idiots. Fish weren't biting go so all these guys did was wide open motor from one end of the lake to the other. No respect for other fishermen and women.

You have hit a real sore spot with me. If people want to fish in a tournament - fine. But that does not throw common courtesy out the window. I've talked to several guys fishing in tournements who think they have precedence over everybody else because they are in a tournament. Its giving fishing a bad name and taking the enjoyment out of it.

Another pet peeve is those guys fishing tounaments, using heavy line, getting tangled in a tree or brush and just cutting the line off and leaving yards of it for birds, fish, and other fishermen to get tangled in. What's up with that?

I read a story recently about the extinction of the Passanger Pidgeon in America. It was because of greed, arrogance and stupidity. The same things that are often evident amoung tournament fishermen.

Sorry if that steps on toes, but this is a real problem.

Ahhh the first warm weekend of the year. Just gotta live with it. I try not to pay any attention at Percy Priest when I'm crappie fishing this time of year. You'll just spend time hacked off and it'll ruin your day. There are a lot of morons.

I admit I do fish bass tournaments almost every weekend. And when I'm moving from spot to spot especially on the upper end of Priest I just run. I know it's a narrow channel but it's better to stay up on plane and make a small wake than to slow down and make a big one. That is of course as long as its safe and I'm not gonna get real close to anyone. If its questionable I shut her down. Fishing an early spring T at PP I tend to prefer to avoid the circus up there all together and I run down away from all the shenanigans and fishing pressure.

The main problem i have with the bass tourney guys is that they tear up all the brushpiles when they get hung up. I've seen them move piles over 5ft from where they were placed. And if they do cut that superline they're using, you'd better watch that it doesn't get caught up in either of your motors.

Well, I ventured out this past weekend for the first time in a while to hit the water. Just wanted to get outdoors. I went down to the Scottsboro, Alabama area and there were tournaments going on. Goosepond was a madhouse. I know there were more than 200 boats there. Out of 4 boatramps I visited, there were a total of over 500 boats. The majority of them were boats in excess of 25 to 35 thousand dollars. Now I dont know what the rule is about approaching a bridge, but most bridges are marked, no wake zone idle speed only. The first boat that came through idled down way ahead of the bridge and was very respectful. He had b eat the 2nd boat up the lake. The 2nd boat takes advantage of the 1st boat while he is in idle speed and zips under the bridge wide open around the other boat and washes out all the people fishing from the bank and not only disrespecting the people bank fishing but his fellow competition in the tournament. I dont look at him as being a bass fisherman or a tournament fisherman. I look at him as being a rude a-hole. Because I do alotof bank fishing for crappie myself and ran across alot of equally rude people who fish for crappie as well. I will get to a spot 3 hours in advance of the bite time, just to have someone in a boat anchor down or tie up right where I am casting after I have been there for hours. I have also had people put waders on and wade directly in front of where I am fishing for crappie and cut me off. Had a black guy tell me yesterday that 2 white guys tried to run him out of a spot where he was catching fish. Told him he needed to leave and go back to the projects and let someone else fish. I dont know what to think about people these days, i wish every fisherman was as good as most of the ones we have here, but that will never be.
