I know that most people cant drop $300-$400 dollers on a box full of rods. If you are going to just have 1 rod it must be a G-Loomis. The IMX is adequate . You will never go back to anything less.

I use a 6 foot falcon classic (light) with a quantum ssx or ss1 or somehting like that. Before I was using a berkley cherrywood or something like that. the difference in feel is night and day between the two rods. If you really wan tot get the most out of the rod you choose use a no stretch line. i use braid because i can feel very very light bites. i, like you, fish almost exclusively with slider grubs. Ol' Charlie designed them things right. You can throw them into tree tops (I throw mine into ones both underwater and more than occasionally into ones on the bank) and just pull them right out so you need to be able to feel what is a limb and what is a big papermouth just mouthing your jig.

The falcons are not the most expensive rod you can buy but there are aobut the most expensive I can justify buying plus they are made in the USA if you care about that. For that pimp they should put me on the payroll or atleast on the pro staff.

Watch out for those St Croix from Gander Mt. Bought one i thought was on sale, and found out that it's made in china. All the other ones i've ever owned were made in Wisconsin, i believe.

I just bought a 11 ft. Ultralite. Plan on vertical fishing and slip bobber fishing. Can use on shore or in my boat.

    Default BPS microlites

I have 2 BPS microlites I would sell. They are 7 ft each. $30 for the pair, plus cost of shipping. Tips painted orange.
