American credit is way out of control. Too many loans made to people who cannot or will not repay them. Cardholders are stuck paying for their bills. As such I cut up every card I have but one, and I pay that in full each month. If I can't afford to pay for it when the bill is due, I don't put it on the card!
I certainly agree with Ship's sentiments here.

My reservations about a strident 'Buy America' attitude means to me one is saying to US manufactures attempting to export is for them to hang it up and cease doing that. I think our manufacturers have enough problems trying to equitably export as it is and the pushing buy American only will only make it more difficult for them to export as the foreign countries retaliate. To my mind employees working in export manufacturing is just as important and valuable as employees working for domestic manufacturing. JMHO here.

This may be taken the wrong way by some but I don't care. Shame on those of you who have allowed yourselves to become so deluded by this "I don't care who made it as long as its something I want" global market brainwashing. Is patriotism uncool or something now? Wake up and smell the roses. Our country needs the support of its own people to survive, or would to all like to become like the useless European Union? Yes we have some bad apples here in the Government and industry that should be ashamed of themselves, but that doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater, or act as heartlessly or unpatriotic as they do.

Wake up people!! WE ARE AMERICANS!!! Its not a bad thing no matter what the news tells you. Support your fellow Americans where you can, and a small way is to buy American when they offer something worth buying. Having a forum that promotes US buying is a great idea, and I'm a little shocked and disappointed by some of you who have a thoughtless attitude in this matter.
and where are you going to find a product that is really made in america???? ok i can see maybe a few hand made jigs , but unless you pour them and make your own hooks and use wild game fur and feathers you will be using imported material's.

First off I do care if I offend anyone who reads this or my privious post, so let me apologize in advance. I would like it to be known that first and foremost I support all Americans who make their living in the fishing tackle industry, NO MATTER where the product is made. If I choose to buy a product or not, it is of my own free will and not due to some type of brainwashing, or not being patriotic.

If I disagree with the way the Country is running, I grieve my displeasure with the Government Officials who allowed it to become this way and not because a rod is made in China. This is how real change in the country is made. And Yes Grizz if it means throwing the baby out with the bath water, then so be it! Not to drown it mind you, but to wash and make it clean agian.
I can assure all of you that I really do smell the roses or coffee.

Let's face it: The US Just does not have the same overall quality and selection of rods and reels as foreign countries do. Does not buying foreign products mean we are not supporting America? NO! We still support millions of American's who make thier living by building or processing these products everyday.

I see allot of cheap shots taken at each other either directly or indirectly, because of products. Instead of saying hey you should'nt have bought that cheap piece of crap because it was made where-ever. Try helping the guy out or just don't say anything at all. Because there may be an American behind the scenes who depends on that product to feed his family. Yes come up with the list, im sure there are some US products out there I would like to know about. Now im grabbing my Falcon and B&M rods and going fishing. CrappiePro

That's a great idea! I'm leaning towards the forum. There're more topics about what's made in America that can be discussed, once it gets started.

Don't blame all this loss of US goods on greed and the government. This country is full of lazy butts that are not going to work. The number of lazies are growing and so is our countries ignorance.

We have lost our way. Socialist behavior is the problem. It's growing and growing.

    My take on the subject.

Sir I respectfully disagree, do you mean specifically fishing products? I own and operate a small Tool and Die shop and I have experimented with the "cheap stuff " as far as drills, end mills and taps and they stink!

Maybe you say it's apples and oranges comparing my business to the fishing industry but I say quality is quality and you ain't gonna get it from china.

Maybe my gripe is toward china mostly, I just can't stomach spending a dime to support the chinese government who pay people 75 cents a day and by doing that maybe a brother in this country loses his job.

And if you don't think that has happened, study up on the auto industry in this country.

Scott; yes Sir, I am refering to fishing tackle, specifically Rods and Reels in General. Yes there are some fine American Products and for most everything else I perfer American quality above all else. I would perfer more quality/affordable American rods and reels to select from, so I would not haft to buy from another company. As for China products I feel B&M rods are a quality rod one of the few fishing products from China I like. Thanks for the question. CrappiePro

Id like to see a list too. But a follow up with cane pole, the effect of all of the lazy a__'s causes American companies to farm out their products to China. No one here wants to work, Chinese work cheap, thats why we are where we are. My opinion.
