I agree with Grizz, I try to buy items made in the USA. I am for a list of fishing items made by AMERICAN workers.

Not saying it again, but read my last post on the other boycott thread and you will see my thinking and what I know about this type thing.

A sticky? not really, but if you talk Slab into another page like the business listing with a section of made in the USA not a problem.

Thanks for the support guys. I hope people will start understanding the importance of keeping our money in our own country's budget rather than sending of somewhere else. We are in trouble and it is getting worse. I can't understand why anyone would not want to help support fellow Americans jobs by doing this.

    Default American products

Thanks for posting this and thanks to all who responded, I see your point on the first page, you buy what you can afford even though you will buy American made if it's affordable. Grizz has valid points as well, example US Reel, look what theyv'e done in the short time with an American made reel. As far as my end there's a 10% excise tacked on to the price of my rods! We as fisherman pay it on alot of the items we buy. But the foriegn companies are able to dodge most of these costs ie: The big battle waged by Blakemore lures [Roadrunner] they managed to fight off patent infringement and foriegn copycats at an expense, but will tell you it was worth it. Crappie Pro here in Oklahoma also has battled with the copycats, but rose above it with the introduction of a new line of baits. It's tough in the domestic buisiness but with a little savvy and supportive anglers we can..YES WE CAN!!!:D

This may be taken the wrong way by some but I don't care. Shame on those of you who have allowed yourselves to become so deluded by this "I don't care who made it as long as its something I want" global market brainwashing. Is patriotism uncool or something now? Wake up and smell the roses. Our country needs the support of its own people to survive, or would to all like to become like the useless European Union? Yes we have some bad apples here in the Government and industry that should be ashamed of themselves, but that doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater, or act as heartlessly or unpatriotic as they do.

Wake up people!! WE ARE AMERICANS!!! Its not a bad thing no matter what the news tells you. Support your fellow Americans where you can, and a small way is to buy American when they offer something worth buying. Having a forum that promotes US buying is a great idea, and I'm a little shocked and disappointed by some of you who have a thoughtless attitude in this matter.
Very true, but don't see it as something that is going to happen fast without more pain. People changing their buying habits can be a good thing and yse I do believe in supporting USA made things so don't get me wrong here, but if we don't make it then that is not an option. It is clear we should support our own and that goes without saying really!

Fine with me, but that would be a very short list, particularly for crappie tackle. Most US manufacturers like Loomis, St. Croix, and all the fly companies tend to focus on the pricier rods. (Orvis' Helios fly rod is almost $800.) Falcon is an exception to that rule, but I can't think of many others.

Other than the reel Grizz has mentioned (Ardent?), I don't know of any US made spinning reels. The US fly companies make fly reels but, again, they're not cheap.

I buy American when the quality is good and I can get the most for my shrinking dollar. I support neighborhood stores when possible. I purchase from members on this forum when possible.

When America produces quality cars with great gas miilage again I will consider them, but will never buy another new one. Only three years old or more. They depreciate entirely too much the first few years on the return on your investment is way low.

American credit is way out of control. Too many loans made to people who cannot or will not repay them. Cardholders are stuck paying for their bills. As such I cut up every card I have but one, and I pay that in full each month. If I can't afford to pay for it when the bill is due, I don't put it on the card!

The only thing we seem to be able to manufacture in the US is Meth.......

Don't blame all this loss of US goods on greed and the government. This country is full of lazy butts that are not going to work. The number of lazies are growing and so is our countries ignorance.

We have lost our way. Socialist behavior is the problem. It's growing and growing.

    My take on the subject.
