Default Minn kota-Terrova 80lb-US2 or not

I was wondering if anybody has the universal sonar 2? I was upgrading to a 55lb terrova to 80lb terrova and was wondering if I should get the unversal sonar 2 since it is so difficult to install a transducer on this unit. Does anyone have one or know anyone that does? Do you like it and does it work as good as any other transducer.

I got it. I like it. No cables to worry bout. Newer models have dual frequencies.

I have the US2 on an 80 Terrova, and I like it.

I've got the 80 with the US2. Was skeptical about it at first, but after trying, really like it. It is nice not to have wires coiled up around the shaft and in the way.

    Me too on the terrova/80/US2.

I like, only minor gripe is I miss being able to tilt the 'ducer forward
when I'm spider-rigging to look out in front of where my baits are, but like you said, it's such a mess trying to
put an external one on... I'd do it again I figure.

Depends on speed and wind, but I've never run mine down in a day's fishing.

If you've got two good batteries and are only trolling .7 to .9 mph longlining, they should last you a full days fishing without any problem.

I have the Terrova WITHOUT the US2 and I could kick myself in the behind for that mistake. I have already wound up my cable and broke it. Do yourself a favor and get the US with it.
