Some food for thought, though. When you use a screw to remove paint, you are also messing up the hook eye by making marks on it. Whis could lead to loosing more hooks, because of the abraision effect from the now marred up eye. I use the point of a fingernail file on a pair of clippers. I only push it thru, but don't twist it, as it could marr up the eye. Would hate to loose a slab because of something wrong with the eye, that was caused by me. Would rather buy jigs with no paint on the eye also, and use BigZigs Jigs, who is a member of this forum.

I use a I believe 1/4 ounce ball jighead and simply cut the hook off and straighten the rest out works great the head acts as sort of a handle and I always have one in the boat if I forget the other
