I may be wrong, but my take on checking the barometer would be to see if you should go fishing. I check one in the shop all the time. Maybe every hour if somthing is going on outside. I have no question if when it's droping the fishing is better. I have seen sharp drops that by the time I got on the water the bite was off and when I got home it had gone up. I think it would be GREAT to hear from you guys that can check it on the water. I really hope you post reports. When are you going fishing, and how often do you fish. This is cool.

If you fish in moving water , rivers creeks, it does not make much difference.

Dennis, I was just waiting until I buy the GPS attachment, then I was going to "daisy chain" both attachments in at the same time. I can get the local barometric reading and the last 2 days log from www.crh.noaa.gov I would like hearing how you unit works and I may just hook mine up before I get my GPS unit.

So, if I hook my unit up now, I can easily daisy chain any other attachments. OK, I may hook it up soon. I got the same deal you did.
It would be interesting to find out what the optimum barometric pressure would be. I really think that particular attachment would have limited value but I already have it, so, I may as well use it.

According to fishing barometers, at least the 2 I've seen, the optimum time to go fishing is when the pressure is between 29.80 and 30.20
    Here is one that says 29.80 - 30.40 http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...kEnabled=false
