Just like Cane Pole; I buy the naturally scented minner. You can't go wrong. I am guilty of buying scents and such, and I rarely use them. Matter of fact I recently found a bottle of the "original fish formula developed by a pharmacist"; I guess I have had this bottle for 15 years! Shows how much I believe in the stuff. You have to hand it to the marketing dept of many of the bait companies, just look into most tackle boxes and you will find everything imaginable. Go to the sporting goods store and look around; $19.00 for a crank bait!! You have got to be kidding me.

I Used to have success with the old baitmait panfish spray. i hadn't used it in years and i went out in bought some and i noticed that bass pro in springfield no longer carries the baitmait line any longer i finally found a bottle at a walmart and noticed that baitmait totally has changed there entire line...must have changed to formula cuz it aint worth what i paid for it.
i have read many good things about the crappie nibbles and the gems and i plan on trying them this spring.
does any one use the berkely crappie liquid attractant?

I really like the Berkley Crappie Nibbles with glitter and I am amazed at how long a crappie will hold onto a YUM Beavertail!

When I vertical jig, which I am not the best at, I use a lot of the YUM Beavertails. Gives me an extra second to react when one hits it. I've always been a caster and a minnow fisherman, so when I first started vertical jigging, the Beavertail is about the only lure I could hook one on. Always a little early or a little late. Since I got my BnM 11' Sam Heaton though.......not a problem. You can feel a crappie sneeze on a jig with that thing. Those nibbles with glitter are awesome too. The glitter kind of looks like scales in the water as it dissolves.

I've tried all sorts of sprays and gels- got several bottles in my boat now. I can't really tell that they work that well. I am a big fan of minnows and crappie nibbles. Everyone has their own opinion however.
