No I wouldn't either...I would probably catch an underpass or powerline! lol It works great on the water though. and they are out of the way..and on a bass boat you just twist around and slide the rod in the holder.
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15

I have a simple, efficient way that doesnt require breaking down my rods ever. I have a 16 ft boat and I use to striper and catfish from and I have 3 Driftmasters mounted on rail of boat equally spaced on each side. I lay the reel end of rod to the front and resting in the other 2 laying horizontally. I use 2 velcro strips, one up front and the other in middle. On the very I use a pipe cleaner twisted snugly on the tips to prevent vibration damage during transport. I never remove my rods except to fish or maintainence. I use 4-12 ft rods out front. I can accomodate 4 rods in holders on each side. Works great for me. Bottombumper
