Thats the link!! That site is the best for outboard questions in my opinion...LOTS of knowledge there.

What I'm talking about is not the "pee hole" for the impeller. That I always keep an eye on. A year or so after I got the boat the impeller went out and no water was coming from it. So I had it replaced. That one I glance at every time I'm running the boat to make sure it's got a steady stream.

The one I'm talking about is below the main engine compartment. It's on the very back, and it's a fairly large one. If memory serves it's at least an inch across, maybe two inches high. When I take the cover off, you can't see it from looking inside, it's below that section a few inches. My digital camera crapped out or I would take a picture of it.

And by the way, thanks a bunch for the responses guys. I normally only post on the NC board for the most part, so even though I'm sort of a newbie, yall still help a guy out. That's cool.

I need to save this thread to my computer. I've never heard of "seafoam" before today lol. I think doing some of the things discussed here may take care of the tricky starting issues I have sometimes too.

How can I save this thread to my documents?

Very good info guys, thanks a bunch. I paid this boat off a couple of years ago and want to keep it for a very long time. So I need to do some maintenance.

Those are the exhaust relief ports...and that sludge is carbon...do a good decarb or have someone do it for you, then run some seafoam or ringfree or something of that type ever so often and I would recommend a good decarb each year. You can read the plugs also...they are probably pretty black. Take a flashlight and look into each plug hole...I bet you'll see black on top of the pistons...once you do a decarb look again. If you still see alot of black do it again. A decarb will also smooth out your idle if you have carbon deposits. Good luck and feel free to ask anything anywhere. I tell you what, I would not know 95% of what I do if it was not for crappie.com, iboats.com, and bassboatcentral.com lol :D

Make you a folder under your favorites on the tool bar at the top of internet explorer or whatever browser you are using. Put all your pages of interest that you want to keep up with in there. Or copy and paste into word if you want to make sure not to loose it due to a cut thread.

oh yeah...you can get seafoam at walmart, napa, oreillys, autozone, carquest, advance auto...lots of those places carry it. Normally around 5-8 bucks depending on where you are. It will be in a white can with red writing all over it. There is also a product called seafoam "deepcreep" it is an aerosal so if you wanted to use it to spray into the carbs or cylinders it may be easier than the spray bottle...its pretty much seafoam in an aerosal can....its an AWSOME penetrating lube...just expensive...
