    Default jig fishing 4 crappie

I was reading in the Tn. fishing rules book, And I didn't see anything that say's you can't use jugs for crappie.
Those things should be killer's on crappie, drifting or stationary, Hurry up and get some made.
Just p/m me when they are ready, But I want the good ole boy discount..lol

I can't see how that technique could be considered illegal. If you got minnows on the rig you could be jug fishing for catfish. Would be hard to say that you were targerting one species of fish over another.

I think you got a good idea there Petie. I need to get down and take a spin in that new boat. Also need to check out that auto pilot. We have made plans for months to do it but my schedule is a little wack right now with me going to school on weekends.

Did you end up catching a slew of stripers? I would like to come down and do that with ya next year. I'll even throw the net to catch the bait! :D

I have personally caught and kept crappie while jug fishing for catfish. KY has no regulations pertaining to this. Even if some states did, it would be about keeping fish, not the act of jugging itself. (assuming jugging is legal to begin with). It is also a great way to find brushpiles.

Gary buddy your discount it add $5 to the price LOL

Hound we had some days that we would put 40+ stripers in the boat in a morning.
Hope to see you and fish sometimes. Even if its sauger fishing.

Speckfinder I pan on checking. But do not see any rules to keep us from it.

Legal or not Legal, That type of fishing is for someone who don't know how to fish the traditional way. Sorry guys thats knot fishing. Just my opinion guys.

    Not legel in Mn. either.
Not that a guy can't ,but for me half the fun of fishing is the bend in the rod and the drag sceaming.

Ken, If traditional ways are your thing, You hunt rabbits with a stick, tree rats with a sling shot, Deer with a recurve bow, drive a standard transmission truck, or ride a horse, no washing machines just scurbing boards, Wood heat, Outhouse's, On and On and On.
Your peeing against the wind here Ken, Snap out of it and get your head right.
What if I thought using a rod and reel on bass instead of a ole cane pole was
    not traditional, Same thing right?
Shoot I know of a man [straight] that sits on the toilet to pee, I can read your mind on that one...lol....lighten up some Ken.

Interesting ideal, I am kinda like Ken too, if all you are after is loading your boat with minimum effort, then you can set noodles, hang yoyo's, heck you can even set a gill net or a hoop net out...some of which are not legal.... I would rather feel them on the end of my line. Much more fun and more of a sport. But that's just my oppinion.
You can't fish with a hung line!

I like to set off a depth charge at about 20' and then just dip em up with the net.
