Ha ha....the paste is probably Kodiak paste which isn't all that bad either...I prefer nibbles over the paste...just my personal preference....
I won't be at work........I'm feelin' crappie today!

It's Kodiak minnow paste. I get it at Grizzly Jig Co. (www.grizzlyjig.com) You know, it's one of those things that I don't use all the time, but there are times that I've caught fish on it when other stuff just ain't workin. It comes in a syringe that fits up into a tube jig real well - just squirt it in and it lasts a pretty good while, too.

This is really strange because I have tried crappie nibbles and crappie bites. I've yet to get a bite on them. I wound up using them all as chum, and that didn't work. Oh well, back to jigs and minnows.

I rarely fish without them now. The Chart nibbles are the "bomb", to quote my grandson.

My wife normally only fishes with a gold aberdeen 0/1 hook with minnow. Sometimes she will only puts a nibble on the hook and catches crappie.

Can't think of any other evidence that there's something about nibbles.

But having said that....I still hate the things. I'm lazy and would rather just use my jig. Darn things are a mess if your not careful.

Also...I think it was Canepole who suggested a few months ago to push those nibbles up under the skirt. Don't cover the hook.

On page 46 of the latest issue of Crappie World magazine there is a article about TRICKS THAT MAKE SCENTS. It says that crappie guide Harold Morgan guided a angler who brought along a can of sardines for lunch. Before munching on them,he drained the liquid from the can into the lake and before long they were catching crappie like crazy.

Do any of you think this would work?

I'll have to try that next time out. I keep some in the boat all the time but I think most of them a packed in mustard. I do have some with hot peppers. Hey maybe we're on to something here.
