I used to use them all the time until I started using the Yum baits. I dumped out the jar into an aluminum pie pan and set them in the sun until they dried about half the moisture out of them and then put them back in the jar. I would do several jars at a time where I had some ready at all times. It helped a lot in terms of keeping them on the hook.

DaveCourington...It does smash them up to insert in the tube. It works really well. I have used them in tubes with one shot for an entire day...That one filling will outlast your tube 90% of the time. It seems to me that a jar lasts me much longer than putting 1 or 2 on a hook at a time...And the thing looks like it is not very durable, but man will you be surprised. I cannot ever see the need to replace it.

I guess I don't understand the bait pump. A regular syringe from Wal-Greens costs 2 bucks and does the EXACT SAME THING.

Maybe so but not all syringes are made equal. Some are near impossible to apply the pressure needed to squirt them things through the tip.
Besides the bait pump is a very solid and sturdy built acrylic or something device that is small and stores well and pays itself off the 1st outing. But the biggest plus is it helps benefit another Louisianian who had the brain pan to come up with a brilliant and effective idea for bettering crappie fishing.

This point has been argued about several times now. If you want to pinch pennies, go for it. Plastic syringes cant compare with the quality of the bait pump. Your call, dude.

I bought a Bait Pump about a year ago. It has worked great and I've saved a small fortune in Crappie Nibblets, there isn't any waste. I fish about 3 days a week.

Crappie Nibblets, Midsouth tubes, a little superglue, and a weedless jighead are a deadly combination.

Last week I ordered a second one for a friend that fishes with me on occasion. They are well worth the money, quality product. Good Luck with your fishing.

Use a oral syringe like the one you give the kids meds with. The inside diameter of the nipple is large enough to squirt the nibbles out. You can get them at any of the places mentioned above.
