    Store them on the rod.
Take the top hook and put it in the bottom eye of your rod, now take the bottom hook and hook into your handle or reel. Snug your line with the reel and then take the line that goes from the tip of the pole to double hook rig and pull out from rod and twist the rod and it will wrap up the slack and when it gets snug hook over one of the eyes. Now you can stack your rods and they won't tangle.
I think they're referring to "extras" ... pre-tied, in advance, for quick addition to an outfit that gets hung and loses part/all of the rig.

I can forsee a problem or two, with the "store them on a rod" suggestion :

What if the hooks don't match up with the guides ??
I don't recommend putting hooks into the handles of a rod, as it may eventually tear a chunk out of the cork/foam.
And it's not recommended that one puts a hook thru the guide, as this may scratch the inner surface ... and that can cause line nicks. Hooking into the "foot" supports is better.

I bent a piece of aluminun and cut slots in it, mounted it to the side of my boat. I always has 2 or 3 put together if I break 1 off.

How can this be fixed Crappie Pappy? My rods were stored in the rafter of my building for years before I started back fishing...and the squirrels chewed on a couple...most of them are either cork or the black foam...

I can't tell ya, cause I don't know :D I'm sure a rod builder could replace a cork section or two, but I really don't know who would be able to fix a foam one. I know you can buy just the handles and ferrels, but it might cost more to buy them to replace the old ones, than to just buy new rods
I wouldn't even consider it, unless the rod blank was a high dollar deal (and the guides were still in good shape).

what you're thinking of is called "Rod Wrap" http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...:referralID=NA

That should work !! (I didn't even think of "wrapping" over the handles :p ) And it's way cheaper than a repair job or new handles

    Good call, poppop !!

And if the negative "comments", on the BPS version, has you a little skeptical ... check these out http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Cata...Wrap-Grip-Wrap

And, of course ... there's always "electrical tape" :p (and it comes in different colors, too :D )

Ive seen cork handles fixed with a chunk out of em....

    1) Take some cork that matches your rod, or whatever color you choose.
    2) Grate it or sand it down to a coarse dust/ sand consistancy.
    3) Mix said sand consistancy in a 5min expoxy which consists of primarily cork and just enough epoxy to hold it together.
4)Apply to chunk of missing rod handle.
    5) Let dry.
    6) Sand down to contour of rod handle.

Probably other ways too, but seen it done like this.
