If you put the ProAngler on a scale against a couple of the brands that BPS carries, the ProAngler is lighter.

That is not a true statement about the weight.

i like b'n'm sam heatons, 10' are my favorites for vertical jigging, i do have 12' but the extra length puts more leverage on your arm and get heavy after a while

i've got three 11 foot wm universal poles..Good backbone, a little heavy for vert. jigging but I routinely whip 6 and 7 pound stripers with them. Have several catfish with them also. I'm pleased with them but mostly vertical fish with 10 foot bm. Any pole with a fish on it is a good one.

Well I ended up getting an 11 foot WM universal. They had them marked down to 29.99 online and they of course price matched it at the store so I'm not out bunch if it isn't right for me.. I like the action from what I can tell, haven't used it yet. It is a little tip heavy. I pulled a balance kit off another rod and it felt much better. I can tell you I'm gonna look like a monkey in love with a football till I get used to using this long thing. I think getting the fish in hand may be the tricky part at first. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Just don't reel the fish up to the tip....

You'll get the hang and you won't go back to a short pole.
