I guess I better leave them along then.

I have a roller trailer under my Lund. I also have a Safety chain bolted to the winch stand. I don't unhook anything up front until the boat/ trailer is in the water. When pulling out I just hook the safety chain to the bow eye and come on out. I roll the boat up tight when I am off the ramp and out of the way. Point is, add a safety chain and no worry's mate. Everone needs one anyway, Straps do break etc. Ya'll be careful out there.

Don't think they are a good idea for me either since the ramps around this part of Texas are pretty steep and when I drive on my trailer I have my fishing partner pull me out without hooking the strap to the boat until we get up the ramp a bit. Many times you would have to get in the water to get out of the boat before pulling it out.

Oh yeah and I have been known to have one of them brain thing at times, LOL!

    So not for me.

Are these recommended for riveted metal boats? I can't find any info. on their website about that.

First off. You'll only lose it once, then you'll remember. I made my own, with 1 inch plastic boards. Doug

I have been using the same wood bunks with the same carpet since '97 when I bought my outfit. At today's gas prices I think I'll just re-carpet and use that extra money for gas for the boat.

BTW, I have a flat bottom Carolina Skiff. Had I had something different that is hard to load and unload I'd probably be interested.:p
