This post and a phone call from my sister yesterday has got my mouth watering for some mushrooms. They found two gallons along the river. So I'm flying to Iowa to find the mother-load and catch a few pond crappie.

We found the mother-lode. The mushrooms pictured were from the first two hours Friday afternoon. We had three more hauls that surpassed the picture and a few smaller ones. Over a hundred pounds total but zero crappie. I can fish for crappie any day south of the mushroom belt.

Folks how do you all store / keep your mushrooms? I tried washing cutting in half patting dry then vacuum sealing them then freezing that worked well but time consuming and the bags for the unit cost alot. Then my grandmom up north used to string them with a needle and thread then hang in dry place to make a dried mushroom. Any suggestions anyone? And man thats the biggest mess of nice size ones i had ever seen' good work you'all!!

WOW PML... All those fish and shrooms in 3 hours!? When you're luck is running hot like that, you need to get yourself a lottery ticket!
