I was always told to go with the wind when you are trolling because the fish face into the wind and will be looking for bait to come with the wind.

Myth buster time. I have always heard that crappie face the wind also, but after looking at them with a camera, "it ain't so". When they are stacked they will be face 360 degrees. If you have current they will be heading into the current.

Even though I have heard to go with the wind I have also caught them going into the wind....so that confused me even more....but, makes sense with your statement now.
