Hey, aren't those shafts supposed to have a lifetime warranty? Might not pay for the labor though...

Warranty is good and for 3 years. Mine is less than one year old. Biggest problem is the closest place that can fix it is 120 miles one way and they will not have the parts until next week. That will be my biggest cost is gas to drive the 480 miles before this is over. My truck is not really bad on gas mileage, but still at 17-18 MPG it will cost at this darn $3.41 I paid today.

On top of that since the shaft split from top to bottom there is likely water that got inside the motor head. SO he will clean and dray all that up for me too.

Oh well I guess I am a tie up kind of guy for a couple of weeks now. I guess I should be happy the crappie already moved out to deeper water. I have never seen them move out this deep this early.

Thanks for the condolences for sure.

Skip I did see in the manual that in rough water to move the collar down to lock the motor.
Guess I will start doing that to mine.

If you had it locked down then there may be a flaw in it and Minn-Kota may help you out. May be worth a call. Good Luck. I have 2 extra Trolling motors incase I have a problem with the main one.

They show in the manual that in rough water you may need to slide the collar down and lock it. So they have there selfs covered there.
Wish I was closer I would loan the one I have been using waiting on my Terrova to get out of the shop
