I think it IS his pic and someone used it without permission.

All pictures are technically copyrighted regardless of whether they have a watermark on them or not.

That being said, I could never understand why people put pics out there on the internet if they are afraid of someone downloading them and using it without their permission. It's a 2 second process (hapilly brought to you by Bill Gates) and most people have no idea that they are breaking the law when they do it.

Nobody knows what Bob's intentions are. He may be asking for permission to use it himself.

Dang what controversy. The pic is mine and was taken at Buck Creek just south of Paducah, Texas. I loved the way it looked so I put it on here and the genlemen or whoever it was is welcome to use it for their screen saver. I was proud they liked it. I have sent a PM as well.

Too many people jump to conclusions. I feel this site is for sharing information, stories, and photos. If it bothered me for people to use these, I wouldnt post them. It is an Honor Bob. Thank you Sir.

    Default copyrights

We are all guilty of plagiarism in some way or another. Most times, we are not aware of the guilt.

I sure ain’t a lawyer, but, I believe most of the stuff we post here would be covered under the fair use law. The internet has really opened a bag of worms for the enforcement of copyright laws. I am sure there is a lawyer somewhere in the world that is scheming to figure some way to make a buck off these internet forums that copy and make use of published works.

Copyright occurs automatically when both of two conditions are satisfied:
    1. the creation of an original work and
    2. "fixation of that work in any tangible medium of expression."

Copyrights last life of the author plus 70 years. Thanks Sonny Bono.

After this time, all publications fall in the Public Domain.

This is all I know about copyrights.

That is why I always add free to use with things I personally create and post on the internet. I place it in the public domain by declaring free to use.
