tried that and it didnt work.lol they still came after me.They offered to sell me unpainted heads but I said no. I had a bad experience with their hook and wanted to make them with a sickle hook. So for me. I have sworn off blakemore products as I dont like the way they handled my situation.They didnt even come up with they Idea but were the first to trademark it. So I have just chosen not to use them.

Branded originals, or not .... I guarantee that both of these "baits" will catch fish
The Char/blu/char one is very similar in color pattern, to the marabou Roadrunner that used to be called the "Peacock" color (since discontinued as a color choice). Only difference is the body of the Peacock RR was "teal" (bluegreen) rather than blue. Even so ... blue/char is a proven color combo, and you should have many productive days with it.
The all Pink version ... also, "formerly" a choice in the RR family of marabou jigs, is also a reliable & productive color. I've told, several times on this site, about using them to limit out for two straight days on Barkley Lake. No other color/bait was working as well; not white, not chartreuse, not even minnows. And I've used it, many other times/places, to catch 'em with :D

I've used RR's to troll with, with success, but have had much more success just casting them. It's rare that I don't have one tied on, at least one of my rods, when I'm fishing for Crappie. And, it's rare that I don't catch Crappie using them (& several other species, too :p ).

Those last jigs I got from you are really dynamite. I used them on my last trip. Let us know when you get the horsehead working.

I used to live in Chattanooga and there was an old guy who had a fishing show there named Benny something. He billed himself as the Old Stump Bumper and said he invented that particular lure. Whatever that is worth.

When trolling these do you run a weight below them or just them at the end of the line? If weight below how much 1/2 oz? The reason I'm asking is I tied up three last night and I was thinking about running over to Caddo to try them out!

FroggerZ I have been fishing like this Spring and Fall since the late 70's and never use a weight other than the jig it self. I catch them in 3' to 14' of water trolling a 1/32oz. RR. The 14' was in the Fall back when as I didn't and have not done that is a good while. Last fall I got busy tying jigs and didn't get to fish much at all.

You need a variable speed Tm and start by setting it on 3 and adjust for the fish and wind. Just tie the jig on and cast it out to the said and kind of back as far as you can and take off. Hold you rod out to the side and if you feel any thump even a tiny one, pull your rod forward a good bit as sometime they are moving with you. Once you hook up stop the TM so you don't put any extra pressure on the fish. One little trick I use a good bit and I am sure it works a great deal is every once in a while let you line slack by moving it back and then hole until it tight again. Many times a bite will happen then. I call that the Skip Dip, LOL! After no bite just pull your rod back to where it's comfortable. I believe that is the first time I have told on a board about the Skip Dip. but I am not sure.
