Anytime you can go. Other than that I like water temp 50-65 once it gets hotter than that I still catch quite a few, but they are tougher to target for me.
Was wondering on everyones opinion on where the best crappie fishing is?

Caught so many fish today my thumb is sore from clicking the counter.
Where ever I find the crappie. They must be willing to take my lures, so I can catch them.

I've fished quite a few states for crappie and believe it or not, most places have very good crappie fishing....I've caught huge slabs and lots of them from the U.P. of Mich. to S.W. Mich. , Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. you name it ....and if you look at some of the posts in here from other states it might make you wonder if there are slabs under every stick up around.....

My favorite lake of all is Lake West Point out of Lagrange Georgia. I have cought crappie out of this lake for many years. I have memories from this lake that will last a lifetime.
I also have fished many different places. I really like, however, to fish at Mark Twain in Missouri. However, for the price of gas, it is hard for me to get down there. So, right now, this will be my second year to hit Raccoon Lake north of Terre Haute, Indiana. I really like this place. But, I live about 1 1/2 hours west of Patoka Lake in Indiana, and from what I have heard, I really need to get to this place this year.
I find that the best crappie fishing happens in two places:
1) my favorite fishing hole on a day that a buddy goes and I can't.
2) another body of water when I go to my fishing hole and a buddy goes to a different one.
Only way I've found to make the fishing good where I go is to bring a buddy with me
