So to some it up what would be the basic colors for:
Stained/Muddy water?
Clear water?
I have had alot of success with orange and pink jig heads. The water I usually fish is rather muddy, and the fish seem to prefer these two colors over a plain jig head. I once had a buddy fish directly next to me, using the same bodies and line, but with plain heads, and I out-caught him 7 to 1. He refused to switch until I had caught that 14th fish to his 2nd. He now is a believer.
Been better, been worse

I'd have to say "anything with some Chartreuse in it" ...LOL!! I have used the BPS Sparkle Squirt 1.5" tube, in Electric Blue/Chartreuse, for most all water clarities ... with success. Chartreuse just seems to be a color that works in all the various water clarities and depths ... especially when coupled with a dark color. The contrast is one element ... the dark color is more easily seen in darker waters (or under low light conditions) ... the chartreuse is good in dark or clear water. And, the "electric" part of the tube is actually just silver metal flakes in the dark blue portion of the tube body.
Now, I fish waters that are stained to murky (green to tan colored) ... no "gin clear", "tannic stained", or "black" waters ... so there may be other colors or color combos that work better, under those conditions.
And I've also done fairly well on solid pink & solid chartreuse (Roadrunners) and red/char, char/yellow, and green/char (tubes/grubs).
Get it in front of their nose .... and it probably wouldn't matter if it was purple with pink polka dots - if they think it's something edible, and easily caught ... their most likely to "sample" it :D ........luck2ya ...cp
