------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I guess it's what you consider easily. I have two of them and I would not want to remove and reinstall every time I moved, but then I get in a hurry. I Guess it could be done in two minutes. Probably less to take it down. My space on the front is limited and getting on my knees to line up the angle, tighten the allen screw, tighten the thumb screw(2), and tighten the lock nuts (7/16 wrench) isn't as easy as it used to be especially with a bunch of rods laying there. If you have a minn kota you can probably bring it up and slide it under the bar, that's what I do and it why I went with tite loc over drift master, whose pole is shorter.

No matter what brand of rod holder you have the unit will only be as strong as the base. Obviously the best way is to have access underneath the deck and use nuts with lock washers. My trolling motor is mounted via bolts with rubber grommets that slip down into 1/2" holes. They swell up when tightened and seem to do a good job on my trolling motor. You might consider that type. Lag bolts would be my last choice. If you use lag bolts I'd put some epoxy on the threads.
