i really dont see why it wouldnt work with the heavier one on the bottom it would sink quick

or reverse it so the bottom one is lighter so it has a slow falling presentation
is that a bite...YEAH FISH DONT HAVE HANDS

Yes Ship it is similar, but yours was after mine since this post was when I started this thing in my head about using a bead head fly as the top bait.

Well based on your idea of using surgical tubing here is what I did on another rods double rig. Now I just have to hope it doesn't cut my line, LOL!

Yeah that tubing may be too stiff/sharp, and you need to leave a little slack for the jig to move around a bit but the basics are right..
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

    Skip,

Perhaps it didn't come from my post. What it shows is how much you and I are both alike in our thinking of what will work to catch crappies. We could have been identical twins or something. I like your creativity and originality too. Man, if we lived closer to each other and could get in the same boat, those crappies would not stand a chance against our weapons of crappie catching.

Let's keep on creating and tinkering with ideas man. You are the man when it comes to fly and jig tying and we all know that. I ain't too shabby myself in tying a basic jig, or with inventions and creativity of my own too. Take care my friend.

I will never stop trying new ideas and hopefully one day we can fish together. That would be great!

I have had it happen way more than one time that my self and someone else had the same idea and one or two of them accused me of trying to steal their idea and I just wanted to make sure you didn't think I would take your idea as mine and run with it. If I ever use someones idea I don't have any trouble telling that it came from another. Heck how many new ways can a guy come up with that has not already been done. I am sure there are people all over doing something new for them and not knowing it's not as new as they think, LOL!
