Yes they do come in black and Brown. but the bright colors are easy to see in a rod locker or floor of the boat.

I haven't broke a rod in the last 2 years and I think it's due to me being better organized than I was in the past.I don't leave a bunch of rods laying around that I'm not using and like was already posted I keep the sections broke down and tied together when they are not going to be used.
After breaking one(anchor bounced on it while running in some chop), I break mine down too. I line the pieces up, take the line from the reel to the first guide and wrap it around both pieces and hook it back over the guide on the lower piece. I also do this with the line between the middle guide(lower piece) and the break point. I tightened up the line with the reel, holding the two together. Works fine.
helluva idea with those hair clips....I use bread wrapper ties but NO MORE!

I check all packages that the grand kids get at Christmas. A lot of them have items that are tied into the packages with a plastic covered wire. They are better than bread ties and last a long time.
Nightprowler, I read my post again and I didn't even understand it. LOL Let's try again. Break the rod down with the tip toward the reel, hook your jig in the hook loop on the rod, tighten the line using the reel, take the line between the first guide and the reel, wrap around both pieces and(after making a complete wrap around all) pull it over the guide on the TIP section(second guide from the tip end). You might have to rotate the tip section to properly align the guides to hold correctly. Do the same with the line between the first and second line guides(butt section), wrap, like the first time, pull it over the line guide of the tip section(near break point) I can draw a little sketch if you like, but that should clear it up. I apologize for the confusion on my part.
