unhook the wires from the battery area and hook them to a 12 V batt.
Is there anyway to change up the wiring so the aerator will work off of a 12 volt battery instead of 2 D sized batteries? I’m having to buy D batteries every weekend. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably would just be easier to get a 12V aerator like this one at Bass Pro Shops. It's what I use on my jon boat. Your other option is to hit up an electonics store and find a voltage regulator that will take 12V down to 3V.

what about buying rechargeable batteries and a plug-in charger unit?
40 dallors for a BPS 12 volt pump is the cheapest way to go and they work well
Thrillseeker, check out the product review on BPS site for the product that TapOut64 suggested. Sounds like a great idea to me. I thought I was done buying things this year from BPS, but maybe not! LOL:D
Looks great...Gonna have to give that bps aerator a try. Gotta figure out what the best setup would be for my boat (1985 stratos...17 ft). Any suggestions?

That aerator from BPS works great, I have 2 in my boat.
I put a cigarette plugin on it and plug it in to the one on the boat and added one with alligator clamps to put on the battery in the back. works great.
