Good Luck Cool! What part of Barkley you go to? I fish the Tennessee end. I love it! I will be heading down on the 18th. I sure hope they're not done before we get there.
Just got off the phone with my buddy. He said that he caught over 50+ today.
Ran out of minnows and went to a 1/16 Pink/Chartreuse jig on a slip bobber.
Said he found them on any wood in about 4-5 feet. They were not right on the bank. But they were close.
I'm going this weekend to find out.
Hopefully the rain and high winds will hold off.
Stay legal.

Caught 30 yesterday evening(friday) and 25 today in about 2 hours. In water from 10' down to 5'. Will be going tomorrow after church. Next to February, this is my favorite time to Crappie fish.Originally Posted by CoolCrappie
Have you heard anything about the bite up in the ky. part of the lake? have they started to spawn up there too? I'm coming down this week from Pa. and i know a couple spots just south of Aurora off 62. Might give them a shot.
Pardner, I live in Cadiz about 20 minutes from Aurora. I caught 30 today, in the bushes, in deep water, every where.Originally Posted by chaunc
Just got back from three days of pretty good fishing.
Friday caught them in one tree top at about 4 ft.
Also off the bank associated with the tree.
Sat. morning the lake had risen and trash was everywhere.
Crappie where dispersed. Picked up a few on the tree.
Went to a southern bank and picked up about 40 off of stumps and bush in about 4 ft. Used 1/32 Black head jug.
Tube was Red with Chartreus. Both jigging and casting.
Only 20 were legal.
Sun. Caught serval just moving from wood to wood in about 3 to 4'.
The lake is almost at Summer Pool.
Cleaned on about 1/4 with eggs.
Good luck to all. I will be gobbling next weekend.
