From what I have learned over the years of fishing. Its all a learning curve, I dont care what one person said they where biting on yesterday may not work today. You have to invest amounts of time and money to learn the colors for the situation. I care 4 of the plano 3700 boxes each box is full of different types of jigs and colors. After the time learning what they want on certain days with using the varibles of weather and water color. Before you hit the water for that day, you should have it narrrowed down to what color they want.

I do know one day I was fishing a spot, throwing a white/chart jig in dirty water. When the sun was out I would get a bites on it. But once the sun went behind a cloud no bites, and then when it came back out I start to get bites back. So I had 2 rods rigged up, and would switch depending on if the sun was out or not.

Best tool for fishing is right between your ears!

I fish mostly in 4 different bodies of water. Tims ford, Woods Reservoir, Normandy, and Guntersville which consists of many different areas of the Tennessee river and its tributaries. The first three are usually real clear bodies of water. Guntersville is very dingy in some areas and fairly clear in some areas. Every clear body of water I fish, I catch them on the crystal shad bass assassin and a smoke colored twister grub. They have never failed me here when I find the fish. This is southern middle Tennessee and northeast Alabama. It may be a little different in your area. I'd say if you found the right color for your area, it would work for you consistantly every time your in clear water and within a certain area close to each other, like the bodies of water I fish only being an hour apart from the furthest one away.

Wife & I had the best luck, all last year, with "smoked" twister tails........
Stained, clear, semi-stained, all waters.......... Smoked.
